Chris Jericho versus Kevin Owens booked for WrestleMania 33

A second title match up has been confirmed for WrestleMania 33.

In the opening segment on tonight’s edition of RAW out of Chicago, Chris Jericho came out to request his former best friend Kevin Owens’ presence out in front of a sold out Allstate Arena crowd. Jericho demanded that Owens explain his actions at the ‘Festival of Friendship‘ last month. Owens revealed to Jericho that he was never his friend and that he used him as a tool to help him hang onto the Universal Championship. Owens also told Jericho that offering him and his title up for a match with Goldberg at Fastlane was the final straw.

Jericho then asked Owens for a match and WrestleMania. Owens would accept as long as Y2J’s United States title was on the line – which Jericho agreed to. Owens stated that he would wait on his Universal Championship rematch because all he really wanted to do was repay Jericho and take his championship. Jericho would eventually invite Owens to the ring to dance and the two exchanged blows until Samoa Joe interrupted to help Owens assault Jericho. Zayn came in with and equalizer in the form of a steel chair, aligning himself with Jericho. This would lead to a Owens versus Zayn singles match to open the show with Jericho versus Joe to come later on in the show.

Here’s your current WrestleMania 33 card as it stands today:

WWE Universal Championship
Goldberg (c) vs. Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman

WWE Championship
Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Winner of Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles (SD Live 3.7.17)

WWE United States Championship
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Kevin Owens
