Claressa Shields lays claim to G.W.O.A.T. status

In the attached video, Claressa Shields talks about how she’d be doing a disservice to herself and her fans by looking at tape of her opponent ahead of her major main event title fight against Hanna Gabriels. Shiels believes that as the G.W.O.A.T. (Greatest Woman of All-Time) she has to perform at her level, not the level of her opponent.

Historic Shields-Hammer bout one step closer if both win in Detroit

Shields will take on Hanna Gabriels in the main event of a Showtime Boxing Special Edition broadcast this Friday, June 22nd, beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

If you’re in the Detroit area, tickets are still available for for this Salita Promotions event through Ticketmaster or by visiting the Masonic Temple Box Office — (313) 832-7100.

Assuming Shields gets past Gabriels and then defeats 22-0 Christina Hammer to unify the titles, which I expect she will; then we can start talking about GWOAT. Unfortunately, she has yet to face serious competition as a pro.
