Dana White on potential Mayweather UFC deal ‘Now it’s time to reciprocate’

When Floyd Mayweather Jr. posted a video of himself walking into an Octagon on social media last week, a few thoughts came immediately came to the mind of fight fans around the world? Could a deal between ‘Money’ May and the UFC really be in the works? Will Mayweather be the face of a UFC—Mayweather Promotions boxing merger? Or is the PPV king merely keeping his name in the news by trolling us once again. The video has since gotten nearly 7 millions views as we continue to ponder the meaning of it.
Mayweather vs. McGregor full fight highlights
Earlier tonight on FOX Sports, Michael Bisping and Kenny Florian asked Dana about Mayweather potentially joining the UFC roster. “The only way a rematch between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather makes sense is if it happens in the Octagon,” White told the UFC Tonight crew. “Now it’s time to reciprocate.”
When Mayweather and McGregor met last year in the boxing world, they were able to do 4.3 million PPV buys, a number that just missed the 4.6 million record set by Mayweather and Pacquiao in 2015.
Will the 50-0 boxing legend and promoter extraordinaire actually risk getting embarrassed by the 2-division champion in his world for a the payday to end all paydays? Never say never; just remember, we never thought Conor and Floyd would actually compete in between the ropes.
The sound of money is deafening.
