Demetrious Johnson vs. Ray Borg scrapped from UFC 215

Demetrious Johnson’s attempt to secure one of the most difficult records in MMA history will have to wait.

Johnson’s UFC 215 opponent, Ray Borg, has been pulled from tomorrow night’s UFC 215 flyweight title main event due to a “viral illness,” leaving him unable to compete per the UFC medical team. The women’s bantamweight title rematch between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko has been promoted to main event status.

Johnson is currently tied with former middleweight champion Anderson Silva for the UFC record of 10 consecutive title defenses. The flyweight champion will now have to wait for this fight to be rescheduled at a later date to become the lone record holder.
