‘The Chosen One’ is headed back to WWE programming.
After a camera panned over to show Drew Galloway sitting in the front row at ‘NXT TakeOver Orlando’ in between Asuka versus Ember Moon and Bobby Roode versus Shinsuke Nakamura, Galloway did confirm that he has signed a contract to work as a part of the NXT roster. Galloway will work as Drew McIntyre as he did during his previous runs with company. The news was confirmed by ESPN just moments ago.
After being released from WWE in the summer of 2014 following a run with 3MB that could’ve killed anyone else’s career, Galloway hit the independent circuit with a vengeance. He won multiple championships with IWC, PWG and WhatCulture among other promotions and even made a huge “Impact” during a 2-year stint in TNA.
Galloway’s presence as Drew McIntyre could be huge in NXT if he’s kept away from terrible gimmicks and allowed to be himself. He joins and already strong new crop of potential title challengers that include Roderick Strong, Kassius Ohno (also in his 2nd run with the company) and Aleister Black.
