In my years of writing and covering stories in the spectrum of professional wrestling, I have noticed many writers tend to scrimp on the fact that pro-wrestling is such a phenomenon for one simple reason; the fans.
In accordance with that understanding, Fightbooth has decided that we will try and offer a continuing piece revolving around those of you who make the wrestling world go round, highlighting your fandom and giving the public a peek into your devoted existence as a “super fan”.
Today we meet one of the nicest people I have come across while covering professional wrestling, 22-year-old Alexa Bliss super fan Alexander Miller. Miller is one of those rare people everybody longs to know. Though I have never met him in person, he has become a welcomed part of my workday as I cover wrestling news via twitter and happen upon his ultra positive tweets full of heart and inspiration. Miller has been a WWE junkie for over 20 years and has spent most of his life partaking in sports such as football, recreational weightlifting and most recently, Crossfit. Miller was nice enough to sit down with Fightbooth and give us a look inside his Alexa Bliss fandom.
1) When did you first discover Alexa Bliss and what made you want to support her?
I first discovered Alexa Bliss back in March of 2014. She made me want to support her because back in March of 2014, I discovered that she battled an eating disorder and found bodybuilding as a way to help her overcome it. She made me want to support her because she has heart. She cares about wrestling and getting better and better and is passionate about what she does. She has a very interesting background growing up and competing in various sports.
2) Alexa Bliss has been very open about that eating disorder nearly taking her life. Have you found inspiration in her honesty and willingness to be forthcoming about such past demons?
I found inspiration because I took what Alexa Bliss said about the extent of how she nearly passed away from anorexia as an education. Her story about battling anorexia inspires me to battle my severe depression that I’ve had for 10 years, since I was 12 years old. Lexi’s proven that if she overcame what she overcame, then so can other people. It’s important for others to know where you’re coming from, so that they’ll learn from your experiences, personal struggles, personal battles and fights. Lexi had the bravery to share her story. It takes a lot of courage to do so.
3) What are your favorite Alexa Bliss moments?
Her battles with Sasha Banks (when Alexa Bliss was a sparkly pixie fairy babyface and had blue ends in her blonde hair)
Her heel turn at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable (in which she replaced her blue ends with her now known red ends in her blonde hair)
Alexa Bliss getting called up from NXT to Smackdown LIVE
Alexa Bliss dressing up as Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad at Backlash 2016
Her winning the Smackdown LIVE Women’s Championship twice (one at Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2016 in Dallas, Texas on December 4, 2016, and the other on February 21, 2017 at Smackdown LIVE in Ontario, CA)
4) If you could tell Alexa Bliss one thing, what would it be?
…Thank you for being an inspiration, a motivator and a role model. You have a strong, positive, optimistic outlook about the real world. For yourself, for the other Blissfits, for the WWE Universe,… for my friends & immediate family, I’m going to keep helping people and caring for them, whether I know them personally or not.
5) What does your Alexa Bliss collection consist of?
WWE 2K17 Video Game for the Xbox One
Alexa Bliss Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine
Alexa Bliss Action Figure Mattel WWE Series 68.5 from Ringside Collectibles
Alexa Bliss Little Miss Bliss T-Shirt
