Halloween came early inside of the StuHub Center in Carson, California were Marco Antonio Rubio would become just another victim on the list of boxing’s scariest man.
Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin only needed under 2 rounds to dispose off Rubio with a left hook to the skull (everything after that was just for show) that would earn him the 18th consecutive KO/TKO finish of his now 31-0 career.
“Max, look at me. I have three belts.” – Golovkin to Max Kellerman after adding Rubio’s WBC Middleweight title to his collection
Following the KO, Golovkin would call for Miguel Cotto next. A veteran draw like Cotto is just what GGG needs right now moving forward, but it remains to be seen if he will accept. There’s nothing to gain for any of the established stars in boxing right now when it comes to fighting Golovkin. Canelo Alvarez was also mentioned for Golovkin moving forward, who he of course would love to fight, but he remains focused on getting Cotto next.
