Phoenix Coyotes left winger and mustache enthusiast Paul Bissonnette is the type of guy who respects the game, so much so that he was polite enough to ask head coach Dave Tippett permission to get into a fist fight with Flyers left winger Jay Rosehill in Glendale this past Saturday night. Tippett, who was ultimately responsible for the fight of the week, was quick to give Bissonnette the go ahead and what ensued was a masterpiece that Don Frye would be proud of. Even MiddleEasy compared it to the Don Frye vs. Yosihiro Takayama PRIDE classic.
In hindsight, it may not have been the best idea considering the Coyotes were up 3-1 at the time of the scrap. Nonetheless, Bissonnette was standing up for his teammates according to his must follow account (@BizNasty2point0) on twitter. Considering that he even asked his coach for permission was a pretty class move on top of that.
In the end though, it would be Rosehill who would come out the big winner. His Flyers would score the final 4 goals en route to a 5-3 comeback victory. Check it out full fight below, and keep an eye out for the hearty pat on the back Coyotes captain Shane Doan gives his teammate after a job well done.
