Jake Shields vs. Ryan Ford to headline WSOF 14 in Edmonton

World Series of Fighting matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz has put together a very intriguing welterweight bout for his promotions October 11th visit to Edmonton.

Former two-division champion Jake Shields will make his WSOF debut when he takes on 2014 KO of the year nominee Ryan Ford in a fight that will air live on NBCSN.

We haven’t seen Shields in competition since he was cut following his loss against Hector Lombard at UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas. Shields ended his UFC stint with a record of 4-3 (1 NC) after entering the promotion with a lot of a hype and a 14-fight winning streak to back it up.

Edmonton’s own Ford has put together a nice little six-fight win streak of his own heading into a fight against a man who headlined the biggest show in UFC history to date. If you’re not familiar with Ford, well, you’re not alone. We’ll do you a favor and get you up to speed by showing you his most recent finish; one that currently stands as a 2014 KO of year front runner.
