Nick Newell announces his retirement from MMA

After defeating Tom Marcellino on the main card of WSOF 24 this past Saturday night, former XFC lightweight champion and WSOF lightweight #1 contender Nick Newell decided to call it a career.

It was an emotional moment in MMA history that no one saw coming but one that we all applauded. Newell, our 2012 Breakout Fighter of the Year winner, defeated every man put in front of him, retiring with an impressive record of 13-1, his lone loss coming to arguably the top lightweight in the world today, Justin Gaethje.

We here at FightBooth would like to thank Nick for sharing his 6-year run as a professional mixed martial artist with us and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
