Okada vs. Omega II is official for Dominion

June 11, 2017. Pro wrestling fans will want to mark that date on their calendar immediately.
The rematch of a match that is already being called by many as the greatest professional wrestling match of all-time has been booked for NJPW’s Dominion show in Osaka-Jo Hall. IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada called out his nemesis, Kenny Omega, after defeating Omega’s stable mate, Bad Luck Fale, this past weekend at Wrestling Dontaku. Omega and Okada would proceed to engage in a staredown as Kevin Kelly suggested that the two would likely meet at Dominion to settle their differences. Any hint of uncertainty was wiped away when the following tweet came across our feed.

As you can see above, the IWGP Intercontinental Championship will also be on the line when Tetsuya Naito meets Hiroshi Tanahashi in a rematch of their Wrestle Kingdom 11 bout. Okada-Omega and Naito-Tanahashi both tore the roof off of the Tokyo Dome on January 4th making these rematches inevitable. That said, knowing that we only have a little over a month to wait until they take place in Osaka makes it feel like Christmas for pro wrestling fans is coming early this year.
