Rashad Evans out of UFC 170 with leg injury, no replacement being sought

A highly anticipated light heavyweight tilt with title implications written all over it will have to be fought on another day. Former 205 lb champion Rashad Evans has been forced to withdraw from his co-main event assignment that pitted him against the undefeated Olympian Daniel Cormier.

With UFC 170 just ten days away the UFC has announced that there will be no replacement opponent for Cormier. The event will move on with 10 fights and the pivotal welterweight contest between Rory MacDonald and Demian Maia will take over as the co-main event of the evening.

Oh ya, we can’t leave you without the obligatory Chael Sonnen short notice call out tweet. Stay tuned.
