ROH 15th Anniversary ‘Cole vs. Daniels’ event results

ROH 15th Anniversary Show
March 10th, 2017
Sam’s Town – Las Vegas, Nevada
• Jay White defeats Kenny King (w/ Caprice Coleman)
Unexpected and unannounced match to start off the show. Very solid match with White winning with an inside cradle.
• Six-Man Mayhem Match: Frankie Kazarian defeats Hangman Page, Cheeseburger, Chris Sabin, Punishment Martinez and Silas Young
With a future shot at Marty Scurll’s TV title on the line, Kazarian picks up the victory. As expected, this was a fun match with some crazy spots. Punishment Martinez stole the show in my opinion, – keep an eye on this guy moving forward. In the end, Kazarian hit the ‘Ace of Spades’ on Burger for the victory.

• Jay Lethal defeats Bobby Fish
Just a solid match between two of the best in the business today. Lethal got the victory off a Lethal Injection. No funny business after the match as both men adhered to the ‘Code of Honor’.
• Six-Man Tag Team Championship: The Kingdom (c) defeat Dalton Castle & The Boys
I don’t know what it is about this version of The Kingdom but they just don’t do anything for me. Is it just me or was the gimmick DOA? Castle and his Boys were a blast during this one but in the end The Kingdom retain with Taven getting the pin on one of The Boys. Really scary spot during this one with TK O’Ryan injuring himself on a Asai moonsault spot where his ankles hit the guardrails on the outside of the ring. No word yet on his current status but we of course wish him the best.

• ROH World TV Championship: Marty Scurll (c) defeats Lio Rush
This one started off super slow but when it hit its stride it really became a great match. Scurll retained by making Rush tap to the Chicken Wing after tearing the tape off of Rush’s injured shoulder.
• Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Briscoes & Bully Ray defeat War Machine and Davey Boy Smith Jr.
The good guys win off a beautiful 3-D.
• ROH World Tag Team Championship: The Hardys (c) defeat The Young Bucks and Roppogni Vice
Unfortunately it looks like the legal issues between Impact and The Hardys are a real thing. The did not use their music and although there were plenty of ‘Delete’ chants coming from the crowd the Hardys did not partake in anything ‘Broken’ or ‘Delete’ related. Nonetheless, this was a brutal Street Fight as advertised. The highlights were Rocky Romero blasting everyone in sight with a white thumbtack sleeve and Jeff Hardy’s swanton bomb off a ladder onto a table to get the pin on Beretta. Couldn’t of asked for anything more here.
Why is a thumbtack sleeve even a thing? #ROH15TH pic.twitter.com/2i5qM65pOP

• ROH World Championship: Christopher Daniels defeats Adam Cole (c) to become the new ROH World Champion
Everything about this match was perfect. Here’s the finishing sequence in a nutshell: Cole hits referee Todd Sinclair with a superkick after Daniels dodges it. Kazarian (who just turned on Daniels to join the Bullet Club) gives Cole the title to put Daniels out of commission before deciding he wants to do the honors himself. Kazarian then rips his BC shirt off to reveal a ‘Destiny’ Christopher Daniels shirt. He was with Daniels all along. The best part is that Kazarian doesn’t bust Cole with the title – he tosses it out of the ring and lets Daniels win this one with no outside help. Daniels then hits the Best Moonsault Ever not 1, no 2, but three consecutive times and he gets the clean victory. The locker room comes out to celebrate with Daniels and The Briscoes hoist him up on their shoulders. Congratulations Christopher Daniels.
