UFC 169 ‘Barao vs. Faber’ weigh-in replay; Both title fights official

On the night before the two best teams in football battle to live forever in infamy, four men will compete for UFC gold in Dirty Jersey. Renan Barao has already defended his UFC interim strap twice after he won it by besting Urijah Faber via unanimous decision the summer before last in Calgary. Now that Dominick Cruz is out of the picture, for now, Barao sits alone in his throne, and coming off of a 4-0 showing in 2013, ‘The California Kid’ has been given another shot at the one piece of hardware he needs to cap off his storied career.

Before Barao and Faber do their business, 7-time defending champion Jose Aldo will attempt what will likely be the final defense of his 145 lb strap. Should the Brazilian emerge victorious he will boost his career record under the Zuffa banner to 14-0. Bantamweights have put on weight to face him. Lightweights have left their division in hopes of an easier route to UFC gold to take him on . No one has been successful thus far.

Chicagoan Ricardo Lamas has been given the opportunity of a life time, and he did it his way. Lamas didn’t drop any pipebombs or start any twitter wars in route to this title shot. He put on his proverbial hard hat and took out top contenders in a business like manner; on Saturday night he’ll get a chance to re-write history and spoil that Pettis versus Aldo super fight everyone is expecting to go down on 4th of July weekend.

Both of these title fights are now official, and we have the weigh-in video and written results below to prove it.
