UFC 225: Megan Anderson scores Holly Holm for UFC debut bout

Published

on

A featherweight bout between former bantamweight world champion Holly Holm (11-4) and Megan Anderson (8-2) has been added to an already stacked UFC 225 Chicago pay-per-view debut event.

For Anderson, who pulled out of a scheduled title bout with Cris Cyborg last summer at UFC 214, this will be her first fight as an official member of the UFC roster. The former Invicta Featherweight Champ will bring a 4-fight TKO win streak into the Octagon when she meets UFC and pro boxing vet Holly Holm.

Coming off a unanimous decision loss to Cris Cyborg in a bid to become the first woman to win two titles in two separate weight classes, Holm returns to featherweight to compete in the first non-title 145 lbs bout for women. Despite carrying a 1-4 record over her last 5 bouts into the cage with her, Holm provides a very tough test for the debuting Australian who would rewarded with a title shot against Cyborg should she emerge victorious.
