UFC Announces Bouts For Fight Night 132, OSP To Face Tyson Pedro

The UFC will return to Singapore in June for Fight Night 132, and the promotion confirmed more fights for a card that will be headlined by Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and streaking British welterweight Leon Edwards. Three fights were announced, but the one that will get the most attention is Ovince Saint Preux vs Tyson Pedro. OSP won three straight before being stopped by Ilir Latifi last November via technical submission. Before that, however, he had back to back Performance of the Night bonuses and was nearing contender status in the currently thin light heavyweight division.

His opponent, Tyson Pedro, only has one career loss and is 3-1 in the UFC. He’s one of the division’s better prospects at the moment and his last fight happened in February and resulted in a victory by kimura lock, over Saparbek Safarov. Pedro has a 7-1 record overall, and this is only his third time fighting outside of his home country, Australia. This wasn’t the only fight added to the card, however.

23-year-old Australian welterweight Jake Matthews is on a two fight win streak and will get another test at Fight Night 132, facing former Pancrase champion Shinsho Anzai. Anzai has fewer fights on his record but fought at a high level in Japan, before moving to the UFC and going 2-1 so far.

An interesting flyweight bout is also scheduled. Naoki Inoue previously competed in Deep and is 1-0 in the UFC, with an 11-0 record total. His opponent is Matt Schnell, a former Legacy FC champion that moved back to flyweight last year following a bad attempt at moving up.

The card is set to take place on June 23 in Singapore, a city that the UFC most recently visited around the same time in 2017.
