For the past two years, we have talked about the popular hashtags #GiveDivasAChance and #WomensWrestling. We have seen some great results come out of this. Female wrestlers that we never thought would be on the main roster in WWE, or the time limits and moves shown in these five star bouts have been incredible.
However, there is still progress that needs to be seen and women who still deserve recognition. As much as I love the women in the WWE, the future of women’s wrestling has always been determined by the female locker rooms in every Indy promotion around the world.
So, I feel as a woman who loves to spread the message of women’s wrestling, I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t recognize the AMAZING women’s division in Ring of Honor.
Ring of Honor has always been a leading figure in finding the next big talents in the industry. They also introduce, or put a spotlight rather, on the extraordinary female athletes in the business.
Now, Ring of Honor has dedicated a full day, every week, to showing us the talent that is gracing the Ring of Honor locker rooms. Women like Taeler Hendrix, Kelly Klein, Mandy Leon, Deonna Purrazzo, Mary Dobson, Candice LeRae, Veda Scott, Hanna ‘The Huntress’, Jenny Rose, Solo Darling, Nanae Takahashi and Sumie Sakai.
These women are shining stars on the indy scene and prove why they are Women of Honor. I feel that wrestling fans should praise these women for their hard work, and spread the hashtag #WOHWednesday. Women of Honor put on a fantastic stand alone pay-per-view in July (which every fan should buy on Blu-Ray or DVD by the way) and have some awesome merchandise that should be purchased by every fan of female wrestling. I can’t wait to see what they do next. If you don’t know the magic of Women of Honor, then take a look at these amazing women in action to bring you aboard.
Don’t forget to follow Women of Honor on Twitter @Women_of_Honor and starting using the hashtag #WOHWednesday!
