Last week we told you that Jessica Eye would have no shortage of options after being released by Bellator. A week ago to the day that the news broke of the top ranked women’s flyweight in the world being released, she would be scooped up by the top mixed martial arts promotion in the world today.
UFC Tonight broke the news on their weekly Tuesday night program that the 10-1 Strong Style fighter out of Independence, Ohio has indeed been inked to compete in the promotions 135 lbs division.

UFC Tonight also reported that the current plan is to have Eye take on former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman in her promotional debut. Kaufman was originally scheduled to fight undefeated bantamweight Sara McMann next Wednesday in Indianapolis on FOX Sports 1 but that fight would be scrapped due to an untimely injury to McMann; no replacement would be found for Kaufman in time for fight night.
