2014 Fight Booth WWE Awards: Comeback of the Year

2014 Comeback of the Year: The Ultimate Warrior

“That was such a crazy week that went above and beyond professional wrestling. Maybe it was done up a bit for television, but those moments with Warrior, Vince and Hogan were awesome. The next night on RAW was brilliant; as a fan, it was a privilege to see. RIP Warrior.” – Matt Addie

“When The Ultimate Warrior came into the ring to shake those ropes on Monday Night RAW the night after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, for what turned out to be the final time of his life, it tugged at the heartstrings of every 80’s baby that grew up as a pro wrestling fan. It was a whirlwind weekend for Warrior following his emotional HOF induction, and it appeared to be a new beginning for him with the WWE. Unfortunately, the legendary Warrior would pass just one day after appearing on WWF/E television for the first time since 1996. In hindsight, it was almost like Warrior was saying goodbye to his family, friends and fans. In reality, it was far too soon. Warrior’s death was nothing short of tragic. And as a young Warrior for life, I am forever grateful that James Brian Hellwig took the time, and WWE allowed him to do so…. to share his final moments with us.” – Dave Reno

“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe a final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends as well. I am Ultimate Warrior. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans. And the spirit of Ultimate Warrior, will run, forever!” – The Ultimate Warrior

Runner Up: Tyson Kidd

“I love an underdog. I’ve been rooting for Tyson Kidd since he walked down the aisle with Nattie and David Hart Smith. Plus, he loves cats.” – Michele Caruso

“Dig him, and he’s building towards something with Bellas/Natie.” – Dan Rose

Honorable Mention: Dolph Ziggler

“Can I vote this guy comeback of the decade? Ziggler managed to connect with fans by being his regular, goofy self on social media and overshelling in the ring. We love Dolph because he appears to be made out of silly putty and he manages to make every wrestler he gets in the ring with look like a golden god. When he won the IC title from the Miz over the summer, I beamed with pride. We’re proud of you, Ziggles. Keep up the good work!” – Lady J
