205 Live Episode #17 (3.21.17) Rewind



The show opens with a backstage interview with Neville. Dasha tells him that in 12 days, he will defend his Cruiserweight Title agains Austin Aries at Wrestlemania. She asks him why he requested a match tonight against Mustafa Ali. Neville says Ali made the mistake to disrespect him when he interrupted Neville the previous week. Neville says he annihilate anyone who defies him. He says that cruiserweight like Ali, because of stubbornness or stupidity, refuse to learn their place. He says tonight will serve as a reminder. He says that unfortunately he doesn’t expect Austin Aries to pay attention, but that Aries must learn that in the Cruiserweight division he is the master. Neville adds that whether he likes it or not Aries will be forced to bow down to him.

TJ Perkins vs Tony Nese

The match starts and TJP apples a side headlock on Nese. Nese gets out if it and flex. TJP with the go behind but Nese counters with a waist lock takedown. There is more chain wrestling grappling between the two. Nese tries to hit TJP with a right hand but TJP ducks and dropkick Nese, then lands an arm-drag. TJP then hits a Hurricanrana and then a flying cross body on Nese on the outside. TJP then applies the Black Widow Submission hold. Nese powers out and  hit a gut buster. He goes for the pin but it’s only a two count. Nese stomps TJP and goes for the pin again. Two count again. Nese sends TJP into the turnbuckles and starts flexing again. He hits TJP with a  running clothesline and covers for the pin. TJP kicks out at two.

Nese kicks TJP in the midsection and goes for the pin again, but it’s a two count. TJP hits Nese with a boot to his jaw and then goes foe a neckbreaker. TJP hits Nese with a basement dropkick, then goes for a bulldog and the cover. Nese kicks out at two. He rolls out of the ring and pushes TJP off the top rope. Nese hits a springboard moonsault. He goes for the cover. TJP kicks out at two. TJP hits Nese with a spinning heel kick and then goes to the top rope. Nese knocks TJP off and goes for the running corner knee strike. TJP ducks. Nese exposes the middle turnbuckle. TJP gets Nese in the Cross Arm-Breaker then rolls Nese for a two count. TJP hits  Nese with a Wrecking Ball dropkick, then dives over Nese. TJP tries to go for the Detonation kick. Nese counters with a German Suplex and sends TJP into the exposed middle turnbuckle. Nese goes for the running corner knee strike and picks up the victory.

Winner: Tony Nese

Backstage, Dasha interviews Drew Gulak. She tells him that the previous week, he said that 205Live needs to change. She asks him if he can clarify his comments. Gulak responds by saying he was frustrated with his loss but that’s okay. He lost, he was frustrated. He said 205Live has a problem and needs to change. He adds his works might have been misconstrued but the people of 205Live are to blame. They act more like glorified stuntmen so that when the fans cheer for this kind of behaviour, they are creating a dangerous atmosphere for the people of 205Live. Gulak says there is hope, because he has the solution. He thanks Dasha and then leaves.

Tozawa is in the ring with a microphone. He asks where The Brian Kendrick is. Tozawa asks him to come out and fight. He tells him to stop hiding and fight him now. When Kendrick doesn’t come out, Tozawa says: “Fine. If you don’t come to me, I’ll come to you.” As he leaves the ring, Tozawa is attacked by a security guard who is, in fact, The Brian Kendrick. He hits Tozawa with a Sliced Bread #2 and takes the microphone. He tells him that under his guidance, Tozawa could have been special. He gives him another lesson (lesson #8): appearances can be deceiving. The Brian Kendrick then leaves.

Backstage, Jack Gallagher and Rich Swann are talking when they are interrupted by Nam Dar and Arya Daivari. Dar takes out a red nightgown from a square box and asks Gallagher and Swann if they know anything about it. Swann tells him that what he wears in the privacy of his home is his choice. Daivari responds by saying that this is a bold statement coming from someone who still thinks the Thriller dance is still cool. Daivari ask him if he’s going to dab next. Dar says that he met a courier backstage that was going to deliver a package to his girlfriend, Alicia Fox. He just wants to make sure that he won’t send her gifts anymore. If he were to send her another gift, it would be one step to far. Their relationship is strong. Swann asks him how it relates to him and Gallagher. Dar responds that he’s trying to solves this in a peaceful manner but that Swann’s being impossible. Dar then challenges Swann to a match next week.

Austin Aries comes out with a microphone. Because his interview went so poorly last night on Raw, Aries wants to try again tonight on 205 Live. To make sure that tonight’s interview goes well, he eliminated the one part of the interview that didn’t go well the previous night: Neville. So instead of asking Neville questions and getting surly answer, he thought it’s be better if he asked and answered his own questions. He says that some people would say that Neville calls himself the King of the Cruiserweight to overcompensate for lack of self esteem and other deficiencies. He would be one of those people. He says he thinks he’s not on Neville’s level. He’s on a whole different level. He’s on the A-Double level.

Aries says he has an embarrassing story about Neville, but Neville interrupts him before Aries can say it. Aries says he doesn’t need Neville for the interview, unless Neville wants to tell people the embarrassing story himself. Neville says Aries is talking himself into an early grave. Aries reminds of what happened the last time Neville got in his face while he was doing an interview. He then calls Neville a Debbie Downer. Aries says that’s the reason why no one likes him. Neville tells him to quit while he’s ahead and that Aries has run his mouth too much this evening. Aries says he doesn’t think he has, and that someone else doesn’t think he has either as he’s been invited to sit ringside on commentary.

Neville vs Mustafa Ali

Neville and Ali go into the collar and elbow tie up. Neville with a side headlock and then a shoulder tackle. Neville tells Ali to leave the ring but Ali refuses. Neville puts Ali in a side headlock. Two count. Neville hits Ali with a shoulder tackle but Ali jumps up right away. Neville tries to kick Ali, but Ali blocks. Neville goes for a wheelbarrow slam. He sends Ali into the corner. He picks Ali and send him to the ring apron. Neville is distracted by Aries and Ali clotheslines Neville. Ali dropkicks Neville and goes for the pin. He gets a one count.

Ali pushes Neville into the corner. Neville gets up and sends Ali into the other corner. He chokes Ali and starts kicking him. He hits a snap mare into a basement dropkick and goes for the cover. Ali kicks out at two. Ali able to hit a roundhouse kick and send Neville to the floor. He then hits a crossbody on Neville from the turnbuckles. Ali with a rolling neckbreaker. Neville with a forearm and send Ali into the corner. Ali hits a rolling neckbreaker. Neville hits him with a forearm and back Ali into the corner. Ali tries to go for a Tornado DDT but Neville blocks. Ali goes on the turnbuckes for th 450 splash but Nevile rolls out of the way. Ali hits Neville with a DDT. He gets a two count. Neville hits an enziguiri and a German Suplex. In the end, Neville put Ali in the Rings of Saturn. Ali is forced to tap out.

Winner: Neville via Submission

After the match, Neville and Aries get into a confrontation to close the show.
