AJ Styles might just be the odd man out at WrestleMania

As we approach WrestleMania every year we tend to know what the card is going to look like by the beginning of March at the latest. Between rumor mills, and just watching WWE TV and putting things together yourself we all figure out who is wrestling who and what is going to happen before it happens.

One of the hottest topics going into this year’s WrestleMania is, who is AJ Styles going to work with? We all have our dream matches for AJ such as Randy Orton, The Undertaker. Even Kurt Angle has said if he could only have one more match it would be with none other than AJ Styles. The reason I along with many members of the WWE Universe say Styles is the odd man out is because the match that we’re expected to be getting is Styles vs Shane McMahon at Mania this year.

This makes Styles the odd man out because you would think after having a Phenomenal first year in WWE he would be in a high-profile match such as the main event. I feel that the Elimination Chamber taking place tonight in Phoenix, AZ will give more insight on the plans for AJ at WrestleMania. I believe the chamber gives us three different storyline options tonight.

One if Styles wins, one if Cena retains and another if Wyatt wins which is the most interesting in my opinion, let me explain why. First we will start with the path of Cena retaining. If Cena retains that means Styles can still use his rematch from the Royal Rumble and get in the main event that way or they just keep it as Cena vs Orton and nobody’s happy.

The second path is Styles winning, this could be the opposite of my last idea. Styles wins the championship and Cena uses his rematch clause to get into the main event. Now onto the last path coming out of the chamber tonight, Bray Wyatt winning the WWE Championship. This is the most interesting because you can copy off of Wrestlemania 30 somewhat and have Styles and Cena both wanting to use their rematch clauses and be in the main event of Wrestlemania 33. Shane could make the decision that Cena and Styles will do battle once again at WrestleMania and the winner goes on to the main event with WWE Champion Bray Wyatt and 2017 Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton. This would be semi copying the Daniel Bryan-Authority storyline from 2014. The Authority did not want Daniel Bryan in the main event whatsoever so, they made the decision that for Bryan to go onto main event Wrestlemania 30 he would have to beat Triple H on the same night earlier in the show.

In conclusion, what I am trying to help say is there are many great options for AJ Styles at Mania, other than wrestling Shane McMahon. With all do respect, AJ can most likely have a much better match with someone who has been doing this for ten plus years not on and off when they need him. Now to be fair, none of what I said could happen if Miz, Ambrose, or Corbin wins but I highly doubt any of those three will be winning tonight.
