Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire became the 5th featherweight champion in Bellator history this past Friday night by defeating Pat Curran in their highly anticipated rematch. Curran was able to eek out a split decision victory back at Bellator 85 in what would be his first of two successful title defenses during his first stint as champ. This time around, Freire would put it all together en route to an exciting unanimous decision victory that would cap off Bellator’s Season 11 debut on Spike TV.
