Bellator 180 gets a mammoth heavyweight co-main event

A bout between one of the greatest heavyweights of all-time and a former NFL defensive tackle has been booked to help bolster Bellator’s 2nd foray into the world of pay-per-view.
Fedor Emelianenko (36-4) has been scheduled to take on Matt Mitrione (11-5) in the co-main event of Bellator 180. It was revealed yesterday that Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva will headline the promotions first visit to New York since the sport was legalized in the state.
Fedor and Mitrione were originally scheduled to clash at Bellator 172 on February 18th but that fight was scrapped on the day of the event due kidney stones issues for Mitrione.
It also appears that a light heavyweight title bout between current champ Phil Davis and recent Bellator signee Ryan Bader is close to being added to this card.
Bellator 180 is set to take place on June 24th inside of Madison Square Garden.
