Major Takeaways
– Ryan Bader dominated Mitrione to earn himself a spot in the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix Finals. He’ll face whomever wins Fedor versus Chael Sonnen tonight for the vacant Heavyweight Title. Bader has yet to eat a punch in this tournament.
– Kharitonov hit a downed Nelson early with an illegal knee but was still able to put him away in the first round after losing a point. Nelson ate one uppercut too many before suffering his first KO loss since Mark Hunt dropped him in Saitama back in 2014.
– Mandel Nello’s KO of Carrington Banks got on SportsCenter’s radar. They called it a KO of the year candidate.
– Mike Kimbel tied Hector Lombard’s record for quickest KO in Bellator history at just 6 seconds.
