NXT
Breaking Ground: Reloaded Special (Episode Recap)

Filming for this remarkable Breaking Ground WWE Network special took place during WrestleMania weekend. A lot of the talent on the NXT roster changed for the better; many dreams were realized. A former NXT veteran, Tyler Breeze, was featured on this episode to talk about his transition to from developmental to the main roster. Frankly I feel that Breeze needs to utilized better, but that’s just my opinion. At least he was on the card for WrestleMania.
For Apollo Crews, he was very excited to be on the NXT Takeover: Dallas pay-per-view against Samoa Joe. He promises that this won’t be the last WrestleMania weekend that he’s on. With Crew’s drive and ability to stay humble and listen to advice from experienced trainers at Full Sail, I think he will have a long career in WWE.
Bayley has been going through a bit of a transition. This WrestleMania has been her third under the NXT umbrella. To see the growth of the brand has been a blessing to Bayley, she feels that the company has backed the developmental just as much as the main roster during fan Axxess. Alundra Blayze aka Madusa and Billy Kidman made sure they wished Bayley well before her match with Asuka. You could tell that it meant so much to her to have a legend like Madusa be in her corner.
A tag team that is well deserving of their current push is American Alpha. Jason Jordan, in particular, has been there for so long. NXT Takeover: Dallas is their second PPV appearance, so they knew that they had to bring it and the to be first match of the night, you have to come with the fire. American Alpha and their opponent The Revival didn’t disappoint. Both tag teams set the tone for the night.
For Sami Zayn, this last chapter in NXT, was for used to put over Shinsuke Nakamura, and to leave on the highest level match possible. Which he definitely did. Footage of Shinsuke arriving at the NXT PPV and Triple H helping him with his entrance can be seen.
Tough Enough alumni like ZZ and Josh are working hard to prove that they belong while continuing their training at Full Sail. Who knows what will become of both men. Maybe we will see during the new season of breaking ground.
I don’t care how many times I see it, American Alpha winning the tag team title always gets me emotional. You can see how much they wanted to win. Jason could barely contain himself during his post interview. This tag team has brought back a resurgence into a division that really needed it by making every match they have must see TV.
Bayley’s title loss was hard for her and her favorite fan, Izzy, who cried in her parents arms. It was difficult seeing Bayley in the audience of the women’s match at WrestleMania instead of in it. I really don’t understand why she hasn’t been called up yet. Here’s to hoping that this is her last WrestleMania weekend in NXT.
Sami Zayn had the match of the night and Sami got a standing ovation to cap off his career in NXT. Thank you Sami for that match. Baron, Apollo and Enzo and Cass were individually told that they were being called up to the roster. The disbelief and excitement were high. This special was a great look into the backstage goings on during the craziness of WrestleMania. I highly recommend everyone to watch!
