Breaking: UFC pulls Conor McGregor from UFC 200 main event

Conor McGregor will not be competing at UFC 200 per UFC President Dana White.

White announced on SportsCenter just moments ago that McGregor was pulled his main event welterweight bout with Nate Diaz due to his refusal to attend a media event in Las Vegas this past weekend.

McGregor sent social media into a frenzy when he sent out this tweet earlier today. What looked like a farce earlier today has very much become a reality. Expect a replacement (GSP anyone?) to be announced for the main event of UFC 200 soon. Also, according to White, there will be another major contest added to the July 9th card within the coming days.

Editor’s Note: McGregor and the UFC brass have been at each other’s throats for more than a minute now. This pissing contest has come to a head and as far as UFC 200 goes, the UFC is more than in charge. The only way the UFC would let a megastar like McGregor go would be because they have Georges St. Pierre ready to come back to fill his spot and take on Nate Diaz in the main event. As far as the other “big fight” the UFC is teasing goes – that’s up to you guys to speculate on. Sound off below.
