Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam opponent to be decided next week on RAW

A #1 contenders match between Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns has been booked for next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW out of Nashville. The winner will take on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at SummerSlam.

After a nostalgic WrestleMania XIX reunion between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns made his way to the ring to address Lesnar and offer up himself as his next opponent. Angle was visibly upset with Roman and the way he handled Braun Strowman after losing to him last night at Great Balls of Fire in an ambulance match.

“You can thank me. You didn’t know how to handle Braun,” Roman told Kurt. Reigns then turned his attention to Lesnar, “You’re never around to.” Lesnar responded, “You actually think you deserve a shot? You don’t deserve sh*t.” Enter Samoa Joe.

Let me go ahead and say this real quick. Joe, Lesnar and Reigns in the ring together felt right. It felt like, for a moment, that WWE had 3 legit heavyweight stars in the ring at one time. Adding Kurt Angle and Paul Heyman into the mix doesn’t hurt either. It felt authentic.

The Diminishing Effect of Brock Lesnar

After more verbal exchanges between all parties, Angle came up with an idea. Why not have Reigns and Joe sort things out next week to determine Lesnar’s opponent for SummerSlam? So there you have it. So you tell us, who would you like to see Lesnar defend his Universal Title against in Brooklyn next month? Cast your vote below and get at us @Wrestling Desk.
