Carmella stripped of ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase

Smackdown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan had quite the decision to make upon returning to work for the first time since his wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last month. Following the controversy at Money in the Bank on Sunday, Bryan decided that Carmella would indeed be forced to hand over the briefcase holding that coveted contract.

Although the match was of the No DQ variety and there had been a history of interference in previous Money in the Bank Ladder matches, Bryan explained that we were in “uncharted territory,” being that this was the first time that someone had actually unhooked the briefcase and handed it over to a competitor in the match. Therefore, Carmella was stripped of the briefcase and the same 5-women will run it back on next week’s episode of Smackdown Live in San Diego.
