Chris Jericho makes a surprise return to Smackdown Live

Fresh off his tour with Fozzy in support of their upcoming album Judas, “The Ayatollah of Rock n’ Rolla” has returned to Smackdown Live to take care of some unfinished business.
It’s extremely difficult to keep a secret in the world of professional wrestling, especially in the social media age. Chris Jericho seems to be that one guy who is able to consistently surprise us with his returns. Tonight was no different.

Jericho was welcomed back with open arms tonight in Richmond, Virginia where he would immediately re-insert himself into the United States title picture. The last time we saw Y2J in a WWE ring he was busy being beaten off TV by Owens just moments after dropping the US Title to him on Smackdown Live. Jericho won the title from Owens just two days prior at WWE Payback.
Upon his return, SD Live Commish Shane McMahon has given him his title rematch against Owens in a triple threat match that will also involve AJ Styles. Styles is also being rewarded his rematch after the controversy that took place this past Sunday night at Battleground. That match will main event tonight’s episode.
So, how long will Jericho be blessing us with his presence on Tuesday nights? Don’t expect it to be for very long. Fozzy will be headed overseas from October 27th to November 18th with a couple of scattered festival dates in the States also taking place in September. Hey, we’ll take what we can get. Drink it in while you can, man.
