Chris Jericho moves to SD Live after defeating Kevin Owens at WWE Payback

Chris Jericho became a 2-time United States Champion in San Jose tonight by forcing Kevin Owens to tap to the ‘Walls of Jericho’ in the opening match of tonight’s WWE Payback main card. This would be Jericho’s 31st WWE/WCW title win, the most by any performer on the current roster.
With the victory over Owens, Jericho now moves to Smackdown Live on Tuesday night’s per the stipulation that was announced following the recent Superstar Shakeup.
With Jericho’s band, Fozzy, beginning their Judas Rising tour this Friday in Virginia, Y2J will likely be dropping his title this Tuesday night to either AJ Styles (the current #1 contender for the title) or Kevin Owens in a rematch. Either that, or he could be forced to vacate it if an injury angle with Owens is booked.
Regardless, at 46-years-young, Jericho’s most recent run on WWE programming arguably could go down as the best of his career. Here’s to more of Jericho on Smackdown Live when Fozzy’s tour comes to a close.
