CM Punk leaning toward welterweight division, will meet with UFC officials in July

According to reports, recent high-profile signee Phil “CM Punk” Brooks will make his UFC debut inside of the welterweight division. It was originally thought that Punk would compete at middleweight. But due to his training regimen at Roufusport in Milwaukee alongside current UFC champion Anthony Pettis and ONE FC welterweight champion Ben Askren.
It’s also been revealed that Punk and his coaches will meet with UFC officials in July to discuss his debut opponent. The former 3-time World Heavyweight Champion is likely to debut sometime in the fall. As far as his near future, Punk will accompany his teammate Anthony Pettis to the cage on Saturday night in Dallas before he defends his title against #1 lightweight contender Rafael dos Anjos. That fight will serve as the main event for UFC 185.
