Report: CM Punk’s opponent revealed for UFC 225 in Chicago

With the likelihood of CM Punk’s second professional mixed martial arts bout headed to Chicago this spring, the one question that remains is who will be standing opposite the former WWE Champion.
According to multiple sources, including MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani, that answer to that question is Mike Jackson, a name that UFC officials are targeting for the June 9th PPV.
Jackson’s previous UFC appearance against Mickey Gall lasted all of 45 seconds back in February of 2016. The fight was booked as a “CM Punk” eliminator, with the winner earning the right to introduce the pro wrestling superstar to the cage at a later date. That date would come seven months later in Cleveland at UFC 203 where Punk would suffer the same fate as Jackson, a loss via rear-naked choke in the very first round.
Punk , who has been training at Roufusport in Milwaukee since signing with the UFC, is a mega star in his hometown of Chicago; fans continue to chant his name inside of the United Center at WWE events to this day. Both Punk and Jackson boast identical 0-1 records.
