Cody Garbrandt makes a statement with KO win over Thomas Almeida

Thomas Almeida came into his 1st UFC main event in Vegas last night as the hottest bantamweight contender in the world. With a perfect 21-0 record and 3 consecutive Performance of the Night bonuses, a win at UFC Fight Night 88 likely meant a title shot was next – maybe even on his home turf in Brazil where the UFC has always been known to push their stars locally. Unfortunately for Almeida, Cody Garbrandt happened.
With an 8-0 record coming into the biggest fight of his life, Garbrandt disposed of Almeida in just under 3 minutes with a vicious KO that cemented him as a star at 135 lbs. Cody Garbrandt officially has our attention now.
