Conor McGregor: “If I fought Floyd Mayweather, I would kill him in less than thirty seconds”

“If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather I would kill him in less than 30 seconds.”

This may be the boldest statement, from a man who has made a career of making bold statements. That said, I do not doubt he believes every single word.

UFC featherweight #1 contender Conor McGregor recently sat down with Chris Jones of Esquire to discuss his upcoming title fight with Jose Aldo, among other topics, like his disbelief in death. What many have taken from the interview though was his quote about boxing’s top P4P fighter in the world today – Floyd Mayweather. Here’s the full quote:

If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs? If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather—pound-for-pound boxing’s best—if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than thirty seconds. It would take me less than thirty seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him.
