Report: Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II to headline UFC 200

After their first bout sold 1.5 million PPV buys on just 10 days notice, it appears that the UFC is going to strike while the iron is hot and book Conor McGregor versus Nate Diaz II for their landmark UFC 200 show.
MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani reported earlier today that the two men may run it back in another welterweight non-title bout on July 9th in Las Vegas. Diaz submitted McGregor via a late 2nd round rear naked choke when the two men met for the first time earlier this month, thus breaking his 15-fight unbeaten streak.
McGregor currently holds the UFC featherweight title that he won by dethroning longtime 145 lbs king Jose Aldo last December in just 13 seconds. It’s unknown if he will be allowed to keep the title now that he’ll be fighting outside of the division once again should the Diaz fight come to fruition.
As of now, a heavyweight tilt between former 2-time heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Travis Browne and a middleweight scrap between Gegard Mousasi and Derek Brunson are currently scheduled to take place at the UFC’s first show inside of Las Vegas’ brand new T-Mobile Arena.
