Dominick Cruz to defend title against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207

It looks like 2-time UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (22-1) will be taking on yet another member of Team Alpha Male for his next title defense.
MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani has reported that Cruz will defend his title against Cody Garbrandt (10-0) at UFC 207.
UFC 207 ‘Nunes vs. Rousey’ updated fight card and rumors
All three of Garbrandt’s 2016 victories have come by way of KO/TKO, his most impressive coming against Thomas Almedia in a ‘somebody’s 0 has to go’ bout that took place on the Brazilian’s home soil this past spring. If he can become the first man to defeat the always elusive Cruz since Faber submitted him back in 2007, he could be in the running for fighter of the year.
The UFC has yet to make this bout official but once they do, you can expect it to be announced as the co-headliner for UFC 207 on December 30th. The originally rumored co-main event for this card, a heavyweight rematch between Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum, was officially announced by the promotion earlier tonight.
