Enzo & Cass ‘Steve Austin Show’ podcast interview

During the crazy weekend of WrestleMania, Stone Cold conducted an interview that I know that you’ve been waiting for. He interviewed the super over former NXT (now main roster) tag team of Enzo and Cass.

The charismatic tag team were so excited to be in the same room as the rattlesnake. This first part of this special two parter episode was more of a getting to know you segment that did a great job of introducing the team to fans who may not be familiar with their backgrounds.

Enzo went to college for writing and journalism without reading one book. Cass, on the other hand, was a pre-med, on the verge to becoming a doctor. However, he knew all along that that wasn’t something that he was going to do for a living – wrestling was in his blood.

So, Cass would go to legendary trainer Johnny Rodz to learn the basics. Enzo has proclaimed that he can work his way into any situation. So he used these skills to make a video that he sent to his personal trainer, Joe DeFranco, who was training Triple H at the time. Triple H loved the video and sent Enzo to FCW without him ever having a day of training.

Enzo and Cass, who met as teenagers shooting hoops in NYC, didn’t become best friends at the time, but recognized each other when they met up again at the developmental center. They knew that they had to be a duo instantly.

Their main focus as a team is getting the heat. Making sure that Enzo gets the sympathy of the crowd and Cass can get the hot tag and relieve his partner from the torture he’s been enduring.

They went on to compliment the popular tag team of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder for their expert heel skills. ‘The Revival’ as they are called, know how to truly get a babyface over and Enzo and Cass have thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

Stone Cold complimented the pair on their great character development. John Cena and Dusty Rhodes were the first people to push the team after seeing Enzo cut a live promo. Stone Cold also sees traits of the Freebird legend, Michael Hayes, in Enzo. Enzo of course sees this as a huge compliment and speaks highly of Hayes.

The pair want to be a tag team for as long as they can. Cass credits Enzo for giving him the confidence boost that he needed to succeed and loosening him up in the ring.

The second interview that was released this week was much more of a laid back, fun loving conversation. Talks of their love life, choice of alcoholic beverages etc.

Kevin Owens was put over in this interview as a great riding buddy on the road. Although Kevin hates hearing any music on a road trip. Enzo is the hip hop head and Cass is a bit more eclectic in his music choices.

Enzo’s mic skills were developed through his legacy of being apart of a DJ family. His Dad “Big Tony” at 54 still DJ’s in New Jersey and Enzo started hosting Bar Mitzvah’s and weddings as a teenager and enjoyed it.

The tale of Enzo breaking his leg early on in his career and pimping out his wheelchair is hilarious. And a special treat is when Cass shows off his singing skills. Please check it out.

All in all these two episodes are so entertaining and you can also see the sheer passion that each member of this tag team has for the business.

Thank You Steve for this interview. If you don’t listen to these interview, then you truly are S-A-W-F-T… SAWFT!!!
