Fight Night 45 & 46 Kountermove Recap

Published

on

I’ve been out this past week for a family reunion so there were no KM previews for Fight Night 45 & 46 but we’ve got your recap right here and ready to go. Just like for the past two events, the KM recaps have a full list of fighters and how they scored, the highest possible scoring KM team, and a ‘Diamond in the Rough’ fighter who was priced low but scored high.

FIGHT NIGHT 45 – Atlantic City

MMA: UFC Fight Night 44-Duke vs Smith

Leslie Smith’s first round finished scored you an impressive 121 points.

Top Scoring Team

 Name Cost Score
John Lineker $5,500 123.5
Leslie Smith $4,600 121
Yosdenis Cedeno $4,800 113.5
Rick Story $5,400 112
Aljamain Sterling $4,500 99
 Total $24,800 569

Diamond in the Rough
Going into this card, Leslie Smith was a fighter who I thought should have been a big favorite going into her bout with Jessamyn Duke. The former Invicta FC title challenger not only had the experience advantage but she was also facing an opponent who hasn’t yet been able to turn her lanky frame into an effective striking tool (as seen in the Correia fight). Smith was able to crowd Duke early and get the stoppage in just under the halfway mark of the first round. She cost you $4600 and contributed an impressive 121 points to your team with her aggressive striking output and first round finish. Good call if you had her on your team

FIGHT NIGHT 46 – Dublin

Gunni vs Cummings

Gunnar Nelson was priced low at $4200 but tossed 84.5 points your way with his 2nd round RNC.

Name Cost Points
Nikita Krylov $5,500 119.5
Patrick Holohan $4,800 114
Ilir Latifi $5,300 108.5
Gunnar Nelson $4,200 84.5
Ian McCall $5,000 80.5
Total $24,800 507

Diamond in the Rough

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that 90% of KM users who know Gunnar Nelson and have seen any of his fights had ‘Gunni’ on their KM team. With an impressive 10 first round finishes, 8 of which were submissions, the guy is the type of fighter you always look for when picking a successful KM team. He would have been a steal at $5000, at $4200 he was a necessity for your FN 46 team. He started slower than expected in the first round but completely controlled Cummings when the fight hit the mat in the second round. Nelson started whipping punched into Cummings’ body and face before sinking in a rear-naked choke with just over 10 seconds left in the round. The low price of $4200 and the second round finish giving you 84.5 points makes Gunnar Nelson the Diamond in the Rough for Fight Night 46.
