Floyd Mayweather Jr. on UFC debut: ‘We want to make sure everything is done the right way’
The Floyd Mayweather Jr. to MMA story just won’t go away. And it’s not likely to anytime soon following Money May’s most recent interview with TMZ.
Although he’s yet to apply for a MMA license, Mayweather is claiming that he will, eventually. “Hopefully we can fight,” Floyd told TMZ. “Even if it takes 6-8 months. Whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly and everything is done the right way.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor Archive
Following his highly lucrative mega-fight with MMA star Conor McGregor last year, Mayweather retired from boxing, for a second time, with a perfect record of 50-0. It continues to be teased that the 41-year-old will transition over to the UFC for an eventual second bout with Conor McGregor—this time under a different set of rules. All we can say as of now is stay tuned. You really have no other choice.
