Friday Night Wars: UFC Fight Night 50 vs. Bellator 123 updated fight cards

UFC will go head to head with Bellator on September 5th when they bring a stacked card to Foxwoods in Connecticut led by very attractive match that could crown the next #1 contender at middleweight. Bellator will counter with a featherweight title fight between champion Pat Curran and the man he beat at Bellator 85, Patricio Freire, just 15 minutes away at the Mohegan Sun.

The two events both feature monster co-main events as well. FS1 will air a heavyweight tilt between Alistair Overeem and Ben Rothwell while Spike TV will bring a light heavyweight bout between Muhammed Lawal and Tom DeBlass to their airwaves. In the three hole, you’ll get heavyweights trading leather on both stations with Matt Mitrione and Derrick Lewis on FS1 and Cheick Kongo versus Lavar Johnson on Spike. Thankfully the cable gods have given us DVR’s.
