Full Fight Alert: Cruz ‘dominates’ Mizugaki in his long awaited return

When Dominick Cruz returned to the octagon this past Saturday night it was nearly three years to the day since we last saw him dominate then bantamweight #1 contender Demetrious Johnson for 25 full minutes. A lot has changed since that night. The bout headlined a free T.V. card on a channel once name as Versus, which has now been rebranded as NBCSN and is the home to WSOF. The man he defeated on that night, Demetrious Johnson, would improve his record as a flyweight to 7-0-1 to close out UFC 178. Johnson’s first flyweight bout came five months after his fight with Cruz.
Unfortunately, for Cruz’s return opponent, Takeya Mizugaki, he would serve as nothing more than a tool for Cruz to unload three years of “pent-up aggression” on all over the cage. Check out the complete 61 second battering below.
