Greg Hardy KO’s fellow former NFL defensive end in Pro MMA debut

Former NFL defensive Greg Hardy scored a vicious knockout in his professional mixed martial arts debut on tonight on the season opener of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. The fight aired exclusively on a UFC Fight Pass live broadcast out of the The Ultimate Fighter gym.
Hardy was matched up with a fellow former NFL defensive end in Austen Lane, who entered the fight with a perfect amateur and pro record that consisted of exclusively first round KO’s.
Lane was given time early after being caught by an accidental eyepoke delivered by Hardy. Soon after his recovery, Hardy hit his opponent with a vicious right hook that dropped him to one knee. Lane, completely out of sorts, would proceed to turn his back to Hardy where he would eat a clean left that forced referee Mark Smith to step in and save him from further damage.

The knockout brought UFC President Dana White to his feet, signifying the likelihood of Hardy getting a UFC contract for his performance is very strong.
