IMPACT Wrestling Taping Spoilers: New Champion, New Name, New Knockouts

Earlier tonight we reported that Alberto El Patron was backstage at tonight’s Impact tapings in Orlando. We can now confirm that El Patron is now the new Impact World Champion after defeating Bobby Lashley in his first match with the promotion.

Here are more spoilers via folks at the tonight’s IMPACT tapings and PWInsider:

• Bruce Prichard announced during the taping that TNA is dead. With new owners and new management they will be known as only Impact from here on out. Prichard will be heavily featured on camera moving forward.

• Santana Garrett and Leva Bates have joined the Knockouts division for a special to be taped on Saturday. 

• Dutch Mantel (Zeb Colter) says that AJ, Roode, Sting, Joe and more left the company because of a lack of vision and leadership.

UPDATE: El Patron would vacate his title the following night due to the nature of the controversial finish.
