Jacare-Romero added as insurance to UFC 194

A pivotal middleweight contest between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza (22-3) and Yoel ‘Soldier of God’ Romero (10-1) has been announced for the third time this year. The fight, which was first announced by ReviewJournal.com, will be featured on the PPV portion of UFC 194. A featherweight title unification bout between Jose Aldo (25-1) and Conor McGregor (18-2) will headline the card.
With UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman (13-0) and #1 contender Luke Rockhold (14-2) co-headlining the show, it’s essential to have Souza and Romero on this card as insurance. Both champions, Weidman and Aldo, have a long history of pulling out of fights due to injury. It’s crucial for the promotion to be able to close out their calendar year on PPV with at least one major title fight.
