John Cena to star in Transformers ‘Bumblebee’ spinoff

John Cena has been tapped for a lead role in the upcoming Transformers prequel entitled Bumblebee. According the The Hollywood Reporter, the film will take place in 1987 where Bumblebee is discovered by a young Hailee Steinfield (The Edge of Seventeen, Pitch Perfect 2) who will by the star of the film. The film is set for release on December 21st of 2018, the same weekend as DC’s Aquaman.

Cena is set to take on Shinsuke Nakamura on tomorrow night’s episode of Smackdown Live. The winner will take on Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.
