Is Kenny Omega leaving New Japan?

Just days removed from competing in the first official Dave Meltzer approved 6 star rated match of all-time, Kenny Omega may be leaving Japan.
The Winnipeg born “Best Bout Machine” tweeted out the following on social media earlier today:
I will be stepping away from Japan to reassess my future. The path of my journey may change, but my goals will not. pic.twitter.com/E4vDiGgAwe

@KennyOmegamanX there is no plan. My schedule is cleared and I'm weighing all options. I've a lot to consider. Thx for the patience/support

Omega became the first gaijin to headline a Wrestle Kingdom show when he took on Kazuchika Okada in the main event on January 4th inside of the Tokyo Dome in front of 25,000 plus. It was also Omega’s first shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and his first singles match against Okada. Although the record books will say that Omega was the “loser” on the night, he put on the greatest performance of his life after a banner year with New Japan.
In an interview with SI ahead of Wrestle Kingdom 11, Omega said that he would “rather be the legend that never stepped foot in WWE but was better than every single one of them and did something that none of those guys could do in their prime…”
So, why the sudden change of heart? Did WWE give Omega an offer he couldn’t refuse? Or does he just need a break from wrestling after putting his life on the line in a match that will live on forever in the hearts and minds of Puroresu junkies around the world? All we do know is that if Omega decides to not re-sign with New Japan, his work there over the past year makes him the most sought after free agent in the game today. And there’s only one game in town for somebody of that caliber. Stay tuned.
