Lesnar on Rousey: She’s a man amongst women

When it comes to PPV draws, Brock Lesnar takes the cake in the world of combat sports. Whether it’s scripted or not, Lesnar has proved time and time again that he can pull numbers. And he’s been doing it for a long time. So it comes as no surprise that the fine folks over at ESPN would ask him his opinion on the newest PPV sweetheart in the world of combat sports – UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
According to multiple sources, UFC 190 did close to a million PPV buys, $300K more than her previous headlining stint against Cat Zingano at UFC 184. Let us not forget that Rousey co-headlined the last UFC PPV to surpass 1-million buys, UFC 168 ‘Weidman vs. Silva II’, when she took on Miesha Tate for the second time of her career.
As the only man to surpass the million buy marker on three separate occasions during his UFC career, Lesnar had the following to say about Rousey and her “lack of” competition:
Well, I think she’s a super athlete in a weak division, I really do. I think that she is a man amongst women in the women’s division. I take my hat off too her. She’s doing an excellent job at what she’s doing. I don’t know how she’s juggling everything, I mean, movies and this, that and the other thing. And then going to Brazil and kicking butt over there and doing all the stuff she’s doing – my hats off to you Ronda. I really think, I’m not taking any talent away from her at all, I think she’s a super beast, a super freak in the women’s division.
