Rockhold’s first step back to the title will come on September 16th in Pittsburgh where he’ll meet David Branch (21-3) in the main event of a UFC Fight Night 116 out of the PPG Paints Arena.
Branch earned a second shot in the UFC after putting together a 10-fight win streak outside of the promotion. In his first fight inside of the Octagon since 2011, Branch was able to keep his streak going with a split decision victory over Krzysztof Jotko to kick off the PPV portion of UFC 211.
The card will also feature a middleweight bout between Hector Lombard and Anthony Smith, a welterweight battle between Thiago Alves and Mike Perry and much, much more. Tickets go on sale August 4th.
