The McMahons announce their GM picks for RAW and Smackdown

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW out of Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island began with a couple of very important announcements ahead of tomorrow’s WWE Draft.

Last Monday night in Detroit, Vince McMahon announced that his son, Shane McMahon, would be given control of Smackdown when it goes live on Tuesday nights beginning tomorrow with the WWE Brand Extension Draft. He’d then give control of Monday Night RAW to his daughter, Stephanie McMahon. He’d close tings out by telling both of his kids that he wants them to “compete so badly” that he doesn’t give a damn if they break the law – as long as they don’t get caught.

Monday Night RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon was the first to walk out tonight in Rhode Island. After greeting the crowd with a princess wave, she’d be interrupted with a quickness by the new Smackdown commissioner, her brother Shane, who was given a rousing applause from the fans in attendance at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Stephanie would announce that the WWE will be launching a cruiserweight division and that it will be exclusive property of Monday Night RAW (which makes sense considering RAW will still be a 3 hour show). She’d then follow by announcing Mick Foley as her GM of Monday Night RAW.

To no one’s surprise, Shane would then announce Daniel Bryan as the new GM for Tuesday Night Smackdown. WWE.com actually leaked this info last week and thankfully they decided to stick with it after the leak. Since his emotional retirement from the ring earlier this year due to ongoing concussion issues, Bryan has now embraced his new career with WWE as an announcer (he’s doing a fine job alongside Mauro Ranallo for the CWC) and now as a GM for Smackdown.
