Earlier today, the quality folks over at Showtime released all 217 cast members of the upcoming David Lynch and Mark Frost ‘Twin Peaks’ revival. The list features a bunch of old familiar faces for Peaks fans (Kyle MacLachlan, Madchen Amick, Sherilyn Fenn, Ray Wise and many more), some new recognizable names that we’ve heard of since casting began (Laura Dern, Amanda Seyfried, Tom Sizemore) and a handful of fun and interesting surprises (Michael Cera, Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor & Michael Bisping).

Renzor and Lynch have a relationship that goes pretty far back so his inclusion in the cast isn’t a major surprise. When you really think of it, Micheal Cera is perfect for the Lynch Universe – and Eddie Vedder is just Eddie Vedder. To be honest, the name that  really stuck out to us on the list was the aforementioned 25-fight UFC veteran Michael “The Count” Bisping.

Bipsing actually played what is described as a “sinister gangster” on the British soap Hollyoaks Later – which we haven’t seen a minute of. You also find him on the cover of the straight to video release Beatdown in any WalMart reduced bin across the country. On top of that, his imdb page tells us that he will play a dude named “Hawk” in the upcoming Vin Diesel vehicle xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (hopefully I stylized the X’s right). Upon further research we actually found out that he replaced UFC mega-star Conor McGregor who was originally tapped for that role.

So maybe Lynch liked what he saw in Bisping’s limited work. Or, maybe “The Count” reached out to Lynch  as a long time fan of Twin Peaks? Regardless, I’m fascinated, absolutely fascinated.

Thanks to a press release from Showtime, we have the full list of the 217 men and women that will be featured over the 18 Lynch directed episodes of Twin Peaks on a date TBA in 2017.
